Let Your Light Shine!

Happy Tuesday! It's officially the last day of summer break here. Where did it go? My daughter returns to school tomorrow and I'm sad that she won't be my sweet companion during the day any longer. Her childhood is in it's sunset and it's very bittersweet. I have a card to share with you that seems fitting for the occasion. I think the sentiment is something every mom wants her child to do.
I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch for the layout here. The stamps are Starstruck  from Verve stamps. I won them back in the 300 sketch frenzy. It's a such a lovely set of stamps that I can see using lots in the future.
Details-
card stock-Papertrey Ink (Rustic White)
patterned papers-Crate Paper (DIY Shop)
stamps-Verve (Starstruck)
die cuts-Spellbinders (Labels 25)
              stars-Silhouette
chevron ribbon-May Arts
seam binding-Hug Snug
tulle,glitter star-Hobby Lobby

Thanks for looking! I really appreciate you  coming to visit and leaving  oh so sweet comments! Take care until next time!

  1. Lovely card! I feel that way with my grandson...his summer break will be over soon and it will be time to go back to college. His college is pretty far away from here...so I don't get to see him much during the school year.

  2. I felt a little sad for you when I read your blog. Your sweet companion returns to school. :( I bet she misses you, too.

It is a very happy, encouraging card and I am sure your daughter will love it.

    Enjoy your day together!

  3. What a sweet card to send your DD back to school, Kristi -- sure she'll miss you lots too, but that just makes 'after-school time' that much sweeter, doesn't it?!

I don't want you to be too in shock now, but my JR card posted last night (still just over 2 hours of Monday here in AZ)!!! Can you believe it -- LOL!!!

  7. Just when I think your cards can't get any better you produce this one. Love it! The ribbons bunched together, the papers, the colors. Specatular.

The kids here don't go back to school until after labor day so they still have about 4 weeks of vacation left. Summer School just got out last week.

  8. Beautiful card! Sorry to hear your little side kick is returning to school. The summer just seems to fly by. Especially for us East Coasters. Won't be long till the leaves fall and the snow flies.

  10. Kristi! You make the best darn bows!! I wouldn't have thought those colours would work together, and I'd be oh,so very WRONG! The black just anchors everything beautifully. And if your daughter is anything like you, I'll bet her light shines like the sun!

  15. Such a pretty card and such dimension. It's amazing that it's already time for school. I remember having all summer off and it seemed like we went back to school right before Labor Day.
