Wedding Cake Card

Good morning my friends! I hope you are well today. My cousin is getting married this weekend and this is the card I made for the new couple. I was inspired by their wedding invitation. It's black and dark pink. I am assuming this will be their wedding colors,so I thought a matching card would be pretty.

I originally planned to use some patterned papers on this card, but they just looked too busy and jumbled for some reason. I decided to just go with card stock. You can't see it in the picture unfortunately, but I glittered the white panel with clear, sparkly glitter.
The stamp comes from a set from Heidi Grace that I found on clearance for 97 cents! I used dies from the Spellbinders set Opulent ovals. Of course, no card of mine is complete without ribbon and flowers!LOL

I'm going to link this card up to the current challenge at Just Us Girls

Have a wonderful day and happy crafting!

Today Is The Day

Happy Monday Friends! It's a dreary rainy day in Georgia and I have so much to do! The kids are out of school today (furlough day-boo!) so DD is here with me. I'm letting her catch a few extra zzzzz's this morning. I found a new challenge to play along with, it's called Fusion Card Challenge. It's a really fun challenge, you can pick either the sketch, the color inspiration or both. The twist to this challenge is that readers vote for the winner! Crazy right?! LOL

When I saw the photo, I knew I had just the paper to use. It's a new Anna Griffin release called Gabbie. I've been an Anna Griffin fan for a long time and am so excited that she's finally releasing some 6x6 paper pads! I made the pink and orange felt flowers, the white one is Petaloo. The sentiment sticker is also from Anna Griffin, part of the Gabbie line as well. This would make a great birthday card or for any special day as the sentiment isn't too specific. You could easily add a sentiment stamp to the inside.

Thanks for stopping by today, have an awesome week!

His Love Made Her Happy..... Sentimental Sundays And Just Some Lines

Happy Sunday! Another Sunday means a new challenge at Sentimental Sundays! This week, we're doing something totally different! The challenge is to create a small canvas or mixed media piece! I know it may be out of our comfort zones, but if I can do it so can you! You really don't need anything special for this; your card making supplies will suffice!
I bought a 4x4 inch white canvas at Michael's. It was 2 in a pack for about $5. I did a base coat of pink with some acrylic paint (you could also use an ink pad ).After that dried, I used a damask stencil and sprayed with a gold shimmer mist. you can see it because I covered it with embellishments! Ooops!  Our sponsor this week, Just Some Lines digital stamps, provided me with this lovely image to work with. I colored her with Copics and cut her out and glued her to the canvas using white glue. You can use Elmer's, Tombow,or Mod Podge for this step. I then went back and brushed white glue over the entire canvas to seal it.After it dried, I  dabbed white ink around the edges for a distressed look. Finally I embellished as shown, using hot glue to secure. Easy peasy and so much fun! I'm going to hang this little work of art in my craft room.

I hope you'll consider stepping outside the usual  and taking a walk with us as we explore mixed media this week at Sentimental Sundays!  I can't wait to see what you create!

Glad Day With You

Happy Saturday! I hope your weekend is going great! I'll be doing a little rearranging in my craft room today. I recently purchased a new work table from Ikea  and today's the day I'm  finally going to drag it out of the box and put it together! Wish me luck! LOL
Today's card is for two challenges combined: Freshly Made Sketches and Colour Q.

I stayed pretty true to the sketch and the Colour Q color combination is just too hard to resist! I used a wonder floral paper from My Mind's Eye as the base pattern. The small pink paper is also MME and the green is from American Crafts. The chipboard sentiment is by October Afternoon. I added on to the sentiment with some stickers from Tim Holtz. The ribbon is Hug Snug seam binding and American Crafts. The sparkly thing in the middle of the bow is a flower center by Prima. And last but not least, SEQUINS! Oh my gosh I love them and could use them on every card! I am such a magpie!

Thanks for coming by to visit today! Have a great day. I'll be back tomorrow with a new Sentimental Sundays challenge!

Fleur De Lis Happy Birthday...

I have a card to share today that I made for the Friday Challenge at JustRite Stamps. We are challenged to make something with a window. I don't think I've ever attempted a window card before, but it was fun to try!

This was a bit challenging to photograph, so that you can see the window. Here are a few more angles:

The first thing I did was, using a Labels 4 Spellbinder die, position it in the middle of the card and cut it out. I then took two corresponding Imperial Gold Labels Four dies and embossed around the cut out. I used low tack tape to keep them in place. I used white card stock,so the embossing was beautiful, but I wanted to bring it out more. I took a Versamark pearlescent blue ink pad and inked the front of the card. It hit the high spots of the embossing and the debossing remained white.  After the ink dried, I stamped the fleur de lis from the Bon Voyage set  by eyeballing it with precision (*snicker*) in the middle of the window.I colored some of the image to define the fleur de lis.I used the corner scroll from the Vintage Oval Labels Set and stamped it in all four corners.I cut a small label from Labels Four and stamped a birthday sentiment and small fleur de lis from  Fleur De Lis Labels 20. I embellished the rest as shown in the pictures.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. As always, if you ever have any questions, please email using the contact me tab at the top. It will take you to my profile. Just click the "contact me". Thanks for stopping in today!

So Happy Together

I hope you guys are doing great this morning! I would like to thank everyone for the congrats and support from you this week on my gig as guest designer at JustRite Stamps. It's been an honor and a blast! If you haven't seen it yet, hop over and check it out!

Today's card is for two challenges, Mojo Monday and The Shabby Tea Room.
how pretty!

I decided to use a banner instead of the squares on the sketch. The patterned papers are a mix of American Crafts ,some of which are not named on the pad, so I don't know the collection they're from. The card stock base is rustic cream by Papertrey Ink. This card stock is seriously beautiful, it's thick and has some flecks in it. The sentiment is a cut up sticker from My Mind's Eye. I also sneaked in a wood veneer birdie, I found it at Micheal's sold under the Recollections brand, but I think Prima has the same shapes. The banners are a digital cut file from the Silhouette Online Store. The cream pom pom fringe is from Melissa Frances and the seam binding is Hug Snug.

Thanks for stopping by! I always appreciate your visit!

Homegrown....

Today's card is just a little note card that isn't really for any specific occasion. This one will go in the file to be used whenever I need a quick card. You could add a sentiment strip to the bottom of the banner to change it to a birthday, get well card, etc.  I used some pretty and cheerful papers from CratePaper and a darling little wood veneer house I found at Mike's.

I used the cute sketch from Retro Sketches this week.
I did mix it up a little and added a couple of elements that aren't in the sketch. I added some wonderful sequins to the top right corner for a bit of sparkle. Then I stepped back and decided it was done!

Miss You

Happy Thursday! Tonight is going to be a bit stormy,we're buckling down and getting ready for a lot of rain. If you are in the path of these storms, please stay safe and dry!
I worked on today's card for two days off and on, I had trouble with the color combination. I originally wanted to do lime green on navy blue, but my blue paper wasn't dark enough and it was too late to run to Mike's for a sheet. So, I made do with lime green and black! My daughter gave it her seal of approval, so I went with it.
I made this for the current JustRite Friday Challenge. It's a sketch challenge this week.

I used the Secret Garden background stamp on the base. I loved this stamp the minute I saw it! The frame and sentiment are from the Vintage Banners set. See the little birdie in the background? I used him to prop another card up and I liked him so much I decided to leave him in for the photo shoot! :)

card stock- Papertrey Ink
dies-Spellbinders (Ovals, JustRite branded Vintage Labels and Banners)
edge punch-EK Success
small black jewels,large black jewel-Recollections
seam binding ribbon-Hug Snug

Sending A Happy Gram

Who doesn't like to get a happy gram?! I hope you are doing well today! I made this card using this week's Mojo Monday Sketch and some awesome Teresa Collins papers.
All of the papers are from the Stationery Noted line. I adore the colors! The sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts and silk ribbon from May Arts. I cut the flower with my Silhouette and added a chipboard button and sequins to the middle. The chipboard banners are also from the same Teresa Collins line.
I actually mixed up the sketch a little bit to fit my supplies. Sometimes you just have to improvise!

I hope you like today's card and I appreciate you stopping by for a look!

It's Shabby Spring Time At The Shabby Tea Room!

Happy Monday! I have the honor of being this week's guest designer at The Shabby Tea Room! This week's theme is "Shabby Spring". Make a creation using the picture below as your inspiration and make it shabby!

Here is my take on the inspiration:
I bought this wooden doily at Micheal's. I layered it over a paper doily and used the flowers in the inspiration to make a cluster of paper flowers, tulle trim and seam binding. I finished it off with a cameo stick pin and vintage looking button. It looked top heavy after, so I added a couple of trims to the bottom.

I hope you've been inspired to hop on over to The Shabby Tea Room and join us this week! I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks you so much for visiting!
