Make Today Beautiful....Make It Monday 135 At The Kraft Journal

Happy Monday my friends! It's time for a new challenge at The Kraft Journal. For this week's challenge we would like you to be inspired by your favorite designer:  Make a project in their style or pick a specific project of theirs to use for inspiration. Remember to use something kraft or anything  purchased at The Kraft Outlet store.

I have so many designers that I admire, some may be well known to you and others are my crafting friends. For my card this week, I chose to be inspired by the wonderfully shabby chic style of Cherry Nelson. Her work can be found on her blog, Cherry's Jubilee. I've been a fan of hers for quite a while and everything she makes is just magic to me!

I started my card with a base made from Buff Ivory Cover Weight card stock and layered vintage inspired papers on top.I die cut a piece of Vintage Dictionary Paper into a label shape and adhered it to the middle. After adding a die cut doily, I then added a stamped label featuring a vintage image of two little girls. I used a white resin frame to frame out one of the girls. After wrapping pink seam binding around the card, I used blue and pink Pastel Hemp Cording to thread the blue button and accent the middle of the bow.

die cut doily-Lifestyle Crafts
label die-Spellbinders (Labels Thirty One)

I hope you will join us this week and show us what you come up with! Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Thank You.....The Kraft Journal 134

Happy Monday! I hope everyone's weekend was great! We've been dealing with a lot of rain this past week and will probably be rained out for the next few days. I've been drying out in my craft room,so it hasn't been all that bad!

I am very happy to announce that I'm officially a part of The Kraft Journal's Design Team! They've welcomed me into the fold with open arms and I am very thankful to be a part of such a great and talented group!

A new Make It Monday also starts today at The Kraft Journal. This week, we're doing a color challenge. Use the colors in the picture below for your creation. Make sure you use kraft card stock or any items purchased at The Kraft Outlet shop.
.
Here is my card based on the inspiration picture:
I started my card with a base made with light kraft  card stock. After layering on some patterned papers and a scalloped die cut, I used a  small glassine bag, filled it with matching sequins and die cut the edge for a lacey look. I punched a hole in the folded over top and used two matching shades of Pastel Hemp Cord to secure it. I then adhered the bag to the front with foam tape,  added a small clothes pin, butterfly, green seam binding and a cute pink felt flower as embellishments. For the sentiment, I stamped a pink banner, adhered it to the front and finished it off with little pearl clusters.

Other supplies used but not listed above:
patterned papers-American Crafts
stamps-JustRite Papercraft
sequins-Hobby Lobby
dies-Spellbinders
butterfly-Martha Stewart Crafts
felt flower-Petaloo
pearls-Making Memories
seam binding-Hug Snug

I hope you'll join us over at The Kraft Journal and link up your creation! Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Sent With Love

Happy Friday! I hope everyone is having a great week. We are so glad that Friday has rolled around! It's been a long week: the first full week of school and we are exhausted. I did manage to make a card to show you today. I couldn't let another Mojo Monday challenge go by without playing along!

Another excellent sketch from Julee this week! I used some paper from Echo Park's This And That collection along with Rustic cream card stock from Papertrey Ink. My sentiment stamp is from Paper Sweetie's  Banner Wishes. The dies  are Spellbinder's Vintage Lace Motifs,Splendid Circles and Labels 25. The heart embellishment is by Webster's Pages and the little pink flower is Martha Stewart Crafts. The seam binding is by Hug Snug.

That's it for today! I thank you for coming by and hope you have a great weekend! Take care!

Happy Birthday To You

Good morning! I'm excited to show you this card today because I love it so much! I had a sassy friend in mind when I made this, it fits her personality so well. Nothing says sass to me better than black, white, pink and orange!

I used a mix of papers from My Mind's Eye along with a sentiment from JustRite's set Friends Antique Labels One. The sentiment is stamped onto a Spellbinders Layered Tags One die cut and decorated with some pink and black enamel dots. I used some black silk ribbon from May Arts and tied it around the card. Then I created a bouquet of assorted flowers and berries as my focal point. A bit of MayArts
black and white chevron ribbon finishes it off and brings some interest to the floral spray.

I based the layout of my card on the first challenge at Seize The Sketch and the color inspiration came from the challenge at The Ribbon Reel.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great week! Oh, and if you haven't already, I would LOVE it if you would check out my brand new Facebook page. You can hop over from the widget in the right sidebar. All of my blog updates will be posted there as well as other cool stuff I may run across in my travels. Don't forget to "like" me!♥

Let Your Light Shine!

Happy Tuesday! It's officially the last day of summer break here. Where did it go? My daughter returns to school tomorrow and I'm sad that she won't be my sweet companion during the day any longer. Her childhood is in it's sunset and it's very bittersweet. I have a card to share with you that seems fitting for the occasion. I think the sentiment is something every mom wants her child to do.
I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch for the layout here. The stamps are Starstruck  from Verve stamps. I won them back in the 300 sketch frenzy. It's a such a lovely set of stamps that I can see using lots in the future.

Hugs For You

Happy Friday! It's the last day of the JustRite Papercraft August release. Today, I'm showing you a card made with Lace Vintage Labels Three. These stamps coordinate with the JustRite custom die set Vintage Labels Three. This versatile set of stamps is made up of some beautiful medallions and a great variety of sentiments that can be used for many occasions.

I stamped the smaller medallion in brown ink and used my Distress Ink pads with a water brush to color it. This technique gives a soft watercolor look. I cut it out with the matching die from Vintage Labels Three and adhered it to the polka dot panel using foam tape. I used the next largest die and cut a frame from teal patterned paper and layered it on the polka dot panel.  I adhered the layered panel to a kraft card stock base with foam tape and then embellished it as shown. I stamped the sentiment from Lace Vintage Labels Three, die cut it and adhered it with a foam dot.

I hope you will visit the rest of the JustRite design team and check out their projects for you today.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you've enjoyed seeing all the great new stamps and dies JustRite has released this month! See you again soon!

JustRite August Release-Dotted Fronds and Large Elegant Sentiments

Happy Thursday and welcome to day five of the August Release from JustRite Papercraft! Today, we are featuring the Dotted Fronds background stamp  and Large Elegant Sentiments. I used them both on my card.

I started this card by stamping the Dotted Fronds in Pear Tart Memento ink on a cream card stock panel.
I layered this panel onto green card stock and mounted it onto a kraft card stock card base. I embossed the frame stamp in green onto a pink card stock piece and die cut it with the matching die from JustRite custom die set Vintage Labels Four. I stamped the sentiment from Large Elegant Sentiments in brown off center, layered it with a doily cut from cream card stock using a die from the Vintage Lace Motifs Spellbinder set. I adhered a bit of lace trim underneath the label panel and embellished the right side with ribbon, twine and flowers as shown.

Make sure you visit the rest of the design team below to see their gorgeous projects! Use the links below and have fun!

Thanks for stopping by to see me today! Please come back tomorrow for the last day of the August release!
