Paper Sweeties August Inspiration Challenge #22 - 'Let's Celebrate'

Happy Friday! It's the first of the month and time for a new Inspiration Challenge at Paper Sweeties! This month is special because Paper Sweeties is celebrating it's second birthday! There are a lot of festivities and special prizes being given away this month. Go to the Paper Sweeties blog for all of the details! This month's theme is "Let's Celebrate" (natch). I've used the colors as the inspiration for my birthday card.

I love the idea of badge ribbons for a child's birthday card! They are so festive and fun. They're also so easy to make! I cut a strip of patterned paper about 18 inches long and 1 inch wide. I used a score board to score the paper every half inch. I then folded the strip of paper accordion style. I brought it together to form a circle and put a dab of hot glue in the center and held it in place until it dried. I layered my circle die cuts and built the badge, adhering the layers together as shown. If you wanted a bigger badge, just adjust the paper length and width to get your desired size. I added some fishtail banners to the back made from complimentary patterned papers. I made two bows from Mint and Robin Egg seam binding and layered them on the badge. I used a sentiment from the Paper Sweeties set Cupcakes And Sprinkles and stamp it on a banner I added to the center of my badge ribbon. For some festive sparkle, I added a few flower sequins in Robin Egg and Frosting around the perimeter of the card. Links to all of the supplies used here are at the bottom of this post.

To join in on the fun, all you have to do is  CREATE a NEW project based on the current inspiration graphic using any of your favorite crafty supplies — PLUS use at least one Paper Sweeties stamp, die, embellishment or complimentary digital image!  Use this month’s graphic as a starting point for your project — be inspired by one or more of the colors, shapes, theme — anything goes … most important — HAVE FUN and let our photo inspiration spark your creativity!
Our challenge will run for the entire month. You can play along as many times as you wish — the more times you play, the more chances you have to win! The challenges will end at 12 pm EST on the last day of each month.
