Believe In Your Dreams-Make It Monday At The Kraft Journal

Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was wonderful and warm! It's new Make It Monday Challenge at The Kraft Journal and this week is a sketch! Oh how I love sketches!
Here's my version:
My card for this week's sketch challenge features a black and kraft color scheme. The card base is made with Lunch Bag Kraft Cover Weight Card Stock. I layered a piece of polka dot paper over the base. The second layer was made with a script patterned paper.I used Black Burlap Ribbon layered on a kraft colored ribbon to fashion a fishtail banner and adhered it to the center of the card. The focal piece was made by die cutting 2 layered scalloped rectangles from Black Board Stock Paper and Lunch Bag Kraft Cover Weight Card Stock. I then hot glued a pre-made burlap flower to the layered die cuts. I also added a Tiny Wooden Clothespin to the largest label.I fashioned a sentiment from Chit Chat Word Stickers and adhered to another fishtail banner made from Black Board Stock Paper and added to the top right corner with foam tape. A wooden star and black enamel dot finish off my card.
I hope you'll join us this week and link up your projects using the above sketch inspiration, remember to use something kraft or any item that can be purchased at The Kraft Outlet store.Remember, all followers of The Kraft Journal blog who link up their projects are entered into a monthly drawing for a $15 voucher from The Kraft Outlet. You also have the chance to have your work featured on Feature Me Friday. Love You Much Valentine Card -Paper Sweeties Designer Spotlight!

Good morning my sweet friends! I'm this month's Paper Sweeties Spotlight Designer and I have a new card to share with you today. Since Valentine's Day is around the corner, I decided to make a card for my sweetheart!
I actually had two objectives in mind with the design of this card. One was to use an atypical color palette for a holiday card. Most Valentines are red and pink, but I added a bit of aqua to add interest and catch the eye. The second objective is to show you how you can combine different stamp sets to create a unique project and get more mileage out of your stamp collection.
My post card base was created using Vintage Holiday Post Cards, which is a Christmas set,but really it can be used any time. The main sentiment is from the SoSweet Of You set. The birdcage postage set comes from Happy Wishes and the heart image is from Fun Shapes. Of course a Valentine would not be a Valentine without lots of sparkle! I added some chunky glitter all around the edge,a silver glittered heart, and a jeweled flourish. The bow cluster is made from crinkled seam binding in Oatmeal , Robin Egg and Baby Pink Berry.

If you haven't yet discovered Paper Sweeties, I encourage you to visit the shop here. There is a wonderful array of sweet stamps, matching dies, crinkled seam binding, baker's twine and lots of other goodies for your paper crafting projects!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Winter Wonder-Make It Monday At The Kraft Journal

Happy Monday! It's time for a new challenge over at the Kraft Journal blog. This week's theme is 'Winter Blues'. Interpret the theme in your own way and don't forget to use a kraft item or anything that can be purchased at The Kraft Outlet shop.
My card for this week's winter blues challenge features some of her favorite things, birds and snowflakes! I started with a base made from Buff Ivory Cover Weight Card Stock. I layered on a dark blue panel and then two patterned patterned papers that were joined in the middle with a star punched border piece made from Buff Ivory Card Stock. I then used some cream seam binding and tied a bow around the middle of the card, securing it to the left side. I used some blue cording from the Pastel Hemp Cord  pack and some cream and silver twine from the Metallic Twist Hemp Cord Pack to form two more looped bows and adhered them to the cream seam binding bow. After punching out a snowflake from Buff Ivory Card Stock, I decorated with light and dark blue jewels and adhered it to the center of the bow. I stamped the sentiment on a die cut tag made from more Buff Ivory Card Stock, added two blue jewels to the sides and adhere it with foam dots.

Paper Sweeties January Release Rewind!

Happy Thursday and welcome to the Paper Sweeties January release rewind. Today, the Paper Sweeties designers are combining stamps from the new release with some of the previously released stamps to show you how you can get more from your Paper Sweeties collection. Today, I've made a Valentine treat box.
I used the sentiment from Stand Add On 6 and the label stamp from the Beautiful set released earlier last year. I purchased the box pre-made from my local Target store after Christmas on clearance. I built my heart tag from some heart Spellbinder dies and cut out the label using a Labels Four die. You could also hand cut the label if you prefer. I am a terrible fussy cutter,so I chose a die instead. The little heart was stamped under the sentiment and is also from the Stand Add On 6 set. I added some red glitter for a little sparkle.

Go see what the other Paper Sweeties designers have for you today. Use the link list below:

Here is a list of links to all the new stamps and dies for January.

I've dressed sweet little Sophie in a new outfit that's part of the Sweetie Pie set in the new release. She has on her baking apron and is ready to whip up a batch of cupcakes for you! The sentiment (which I agree wholeheartedly with) and the little cuppcakes are from the Fresh Baked set . I glittered the tops of my little cupcakes with some pink glitter. I used a cupcake border stamp from the Sending Sweet Thoughts set to create a background that I embossed in white. My sweet bow was made from Strawberry Shortcake crinkled seam binding ribbon that's also available in the Paper Sweeties shop.

Winter Wonderland-Make It Monday At The Kraft Journal

I hope your weekend was wonderful! Monday came too quick this week! It's time for a new challenge over at The Kraft Journal! It's a color challenge this week! How pretty is this?
I had so much fun working with this gorgeous color palette! Here's my take on the inspiration.

I started with a dark gray card base, lightened with a layer of Buff Ivory Cover Weight Card Stock. I embossed a pink and blue panel with a snowflake embossing folder and adhered it on the front. I cut a banner from light gray card stock and adhered it down the middle. I die cut several snowflakes from pink and blue glittered card stock and arranged them down the front of the card, using foam dots to vary the heights. I then made two bows from blue and pink hemp twines from the Pastel Hemp Cord Pack, and glued them to the middle of the card amongst the snowflakes. I then added a pink and blue rose to the bow and accented each snowflake center with gray pearls. The sentiment was made from Seasonal Chit Chat  Word Stickers.

I hope you'll join us this week and link up your projects using the above color inspiration, remember to use something kraft or any item that can be purchased at The Kraft Outlet store.Remember, all followers of The Kraft Journal blog who link up their projects are entered into a monthly drawing for a $15 voucher from The Kraft Outlet. You also have the chance to have your work featured on Feature Me Friday. I'm Just A Phone Call Away

Happy Saturday to all! The weather is terrible today here, we're expecting a day full of thunderstorms. I plan on spending my time crafting hopefully! I hope your Saturday will be equally crafty! Today I'm sharing a card with a telephone theme. When is the last time you've seen a dial phone? I usually see them on Etsy or Ebay under the "vintage" category. Talk abut feeling old! I used the Call Me Soon stamp set from Justrite Papercraft.

I found the phone receiver cut file in the Silhouette Online Store. The dial was die cut with a circle spellbinder die. I used Glossy accents on each button to give it a shiny and plastic finish, it didn't photograph well and is much bolder in person. I used some cute American Crafts paper. Don't you love the speech bubbles? I really like the unusual color combination the papers have. I think this is the right combination of cute and nostalgic.
Thanks for stopping by today! Thank you for all of your visits and wonderful comments, I do appreciate them! Have an awesome weekend!

Butterfly Kisses- JustRite Papercraft January Release

Happy Monday and welcome to another day of the January release release from JustRite Papercraft. Today, we're showcasing 2 new mini cling sets, Butterfly Kisses and Whisper Secrets. These two sets coordinate to give you a large sentiment and matching large image for cards, scrapbook pages, mixed media and home decor projects. I made an elegant one layer card for you today.
This card is super simple to make and the large butterfly image has so much impact that a lot of layering and embellishment isn't really needed. I made a simple top fold card from rustic cream card stock. I stamped the butterfly image  on the top center with Versamark ink and embossed it in gold. I used the large label die from the Cupcake Stand JustRite Custom Spellbinder die set, centered it over the butterfly image and ran it through my Grand Calibur machine using only the base plate, embossing pad and pink embossing plate. If you have a different machine, just use the embossing sandwich recipe. While my die was still taped in place, I used an embossing pen and traced around the outside of the die. After removing the die, I then embossed the line with gold embossing powder. I created the sentiment tag using Versamark and gold embossing powder just like the butterfly. I wrapped some cream silk ribbon around the card at the bottom, tying it into a simple bow. I used some thin gold satin ribbon.to tie the tag around the bow and then added the little gold embellishment to the center. The gold embossing is so difficult to photograph, but it's really stunning in person!

The JustRite design team has some beautiful projects today for your inspiration with these two sets. I hope you'll visit them. Use the links below to hop around and see what they've made for you.

In case you haven't heard, there's a sale going on right now! See the graphic below for the details!

Thanks for coming by today, be sure to visit JustRite's blog tomorrow for the last installment of the January release! Have a nice week!

Take Flight- Make It Monday at The Kraft Journal

Good morning and welcome to another Make It Monday challenge at The Kraft Journal. I hope your New Year is starting off well as we head into it's second week. We're expecting some snow flurries this morning, hopefully nothing too bad. This week's challenge theme is "Lace It Up". Use lace somewhere on your project and use a kraft item or anything that can be found at The Kraft Outlet store.
I decided to make a  vintage style card with  a kraft and black color scheme. I began my card by embossing a background onto a card base made from Brown Kraft Cover Weight Card Stock.
I die cut a piece of Vintage Dictionary Paper into a label and adhered it to the middle of the card. For the card focal point, I used three butterfly stickers from the Crowded Attic Salvage Sticker pack. After attaching black lace to the bottom of thr card,I added a brown seam binding bow and a vintage flower button to the center. After die cutting a small index label from Blackboard Stock Paper, I fashioned a sentiment from Chit Chat Word stickers and used a Memo Pin to attach it to the bow.

Hello and welcome to day 5 of the JustRite Papercraft January release! I hope you are  staying safe and warm from the horrible winter storms that have been happening. We're freezing down here in Georgia, but lucky that there is no snow in the forecast except for maybe a few flurries Monday morning.

Friendship Vintage Labels Seven is another awesome sentiment set that coordinates with the new Vintage Labels Seven Custom JustRite Spellbinder dies, and Tulip Damask is a sweet and delicate damask background stamp. I've used a lovely sentiment today on my spring inspired floral card.

Ribbons And Swags Vintage Labels Seven-JustRite Papercraft January CHA Release

Happy Saturday and welcome to day four of the January release from JustRite Papercraft! Today's set is the latest design from our very own Becca Feeken! It called Ribbons And Swags Vintage Labels Seven and it is gorgeous! There several mix and match sentiments,a border, corners and little flourishes to create a custom look to your cards. This set also coordinates with the Vintage Labels Seven dies and Lacey Tiers. I've used Lacey Tiers on my bird themed card.

I started my card with a large 5x7 card base made of cream card stock.I die cut a scalloped border from text patterned paper and adhered it to the left edge of my card base. I then trimmed my background paper to fit the front of the card and adhered it to the card front. I then stamped the large swag medallion on another piece of patterned paper, trimmed it slightly smaller than the square Lacey Tier die and adhered it to the top center f my card. I then used the square Lacey Tier die to cut a piece of chocolate brown card stock. I chose to leave the pieces intact, and accented them with green pearls. I adhered the die cut over the stamped image making sure that they were lined up to create a frame. I added some brown glitter around the opening of the frame for a little sparkle. I stamped the main sentiment on a round die cut and adhered it to the center of the stamped medallion with foam dots. I stamped the smaller sentiment directly onto the main background paper next to the bird image and then stamped the half round swag underneath it. I then added more green pearls to the small sentiment and added the ribbon bows as shown, tucked in some berries and branches, securing them with hot glue. All that was left to do was add a small pearl button to the center of the bow.

I hope you'll visit the rest of the JustRite designers, they have some beautiful projects to show you today.

Cupcake Celebrations And Cupcake Stand Dies- JustRite Papercraft January CHA Release

Happy Friday and welcome to day three of the new release from JustRite Papercraft! Oh my gosh what a cute set we have to show you today! Cupcake Celebrations is the latest from designer Samantha Walker. It has a wonderful set of matching dies that are just to "die" for!

Think of all the combinations you can create with this set! So many occasions are covered here. What a great way to round out your stamp collection! I decided to make my card in a whimsical style today, but you could do clean and simple, traditional, cute and even shabby chic. My little cupcakes were made using those micro beads I bought a long time ago. I thought they would be so cute as "sprinkles" for my cupcake icing! I adhered them with some Glossy Accents and allowed them to dry overnight.

I hope you'll go and see what the other members of the JustRite design team made for you today, you won't be disappointed!

In case you missed it yesterday, JustRite is also having a sale until January 15th. See the graphic below for details.
