Make It Monday At The Kraft Journal

Happy Monday! It's time for another exciting Make It Monday challenge! This week's challenge is "inside and out".  We're looking on the inside too this time around. My card for you today has been decorated on the inside as well as the outside.

I began by making a card base from Brown Kraft Cover Weight Card Stock cut at approximately 4.25 by 5.5 inches. I layered a blue and pink polka dot paper over the card front. I die cut a star out of the middle of a pink patterned paper panel and backed it with blue star patterned paper. I adhered the panel to the top two thirds of the card from using foam tape. I then added a star die cut from metallic gold to the center of the cutout. I added some gold scalloped trim below the pink die cut panel. After stamping the sentiment on a die cut tag, I used some coordinating twine from the Pastel  Hemp Twine  and the Dark Jewel Hemp Twine Packs, strung through the tag and wrapped around the bottom third of the card.
For the inside of her card, I stamped a matching sentiment and a birthday sentiment in the middle and then decorated with coordinating die cut stars.

It really is a beautiful line and I can't wait to make more gorgeous cards with it! Purple And Grey Sympathy Card

Good Morning my crafty friends! I hope your week is going well. I have a sympathy card to share with you today. These aren't really the kind of cards I like to make, however, when you need them, you usually need them right away. I made this one for my card stash.
The color combination was actually inspired my a suit and tie I saw on a news anchor on TV. Yes, I get inspiration everywhere! I don't really use a lot of purple generally, so I wanted to stretch out of my usual color preferences.
I used the new Baroque Frame background stamp from JustRite Papercraft and embossed it in silver on a very dark grey paper. My card base is a very pale grey, it almost looks white in the picture. I've mixed several different shades of purple here for interest and texture. The sentiment is stamped in purple on a die cut made from the tag in the A2 Filigree Delight Spellbinders die. I customized it by cutting two of the same same shape, cutting one in half and adhering it to the top and bottom so the filigree is on all four sides.
All of links to the products I've used here are at the bottom of this post.

Make It Monday At The Kraft Journal

Whoo Hoo! It's time for another Make It Monday challenge at The Kraft Journal blog! This week it's a color challenge. My second favorite after sketches!LOL. Here is the gorgeous color palette we are working with this week.
What an unusual color combination! I had fun putting together my project for you this week.

My cute little mixed media journal is going on my desk to use when a creative idea strikes me. If I don't write it down right then, it's lost forever! getting older really takes a toll on your memory!
I began with a Small  Natural Smooth Kraft Journal and layered a piece of butterfly patterned paper on top. Using Chit Chat Word Stickers, I added "my journal" to the bottom right of the journal. I then hot glued some ruffled cotton trim to the left side of the front cover, then tied some Natural Hemp Cord around the front cover and tied it in a bow.I  finished off the journal cover by using some blue cording from the Pastel Hemp Cord pack to attach a metal charm to the hemp cord bow.

Love And Hugs

Good evening! I had some time in the craft room this week and whipped up a few new cards. I've been loving the Magnolia Vintage Labels Seven stamp set that was released this month and wanted to use it again.
I've had this pretty Kaisercraft paper sitting in my collection for quite a while and never used it. Paper is my crafting vice, I can't seem to stop buying it,so my paper stash is growing rather massive. Maybe one day I'll use it up! (probably not). I buy 6x6 paper pads almost exclusively, the prints are scaled down from 12x12 so it looks better on a card. I've once again used one of my favorite doily die and another love of mine, Melissa Frances resin. The layout I've used here is loosely based on the Mojo Monday sketch. I changed it around a bit to suit my supplies. Links to all of the supplies are listed below.

Thanks for popping over today!
