Make It Monday At The Kraft Journal- Pinterest Inspired

Hi and welcome to another Make it Monday challenge at The Kraft Journal blog! This week's challenge is to create a project inspired by something you've found on  Pinterest. If you don't know what Pinterest is, it's a great online place where you can bookmark interesting things you've found on the internet,so you can visit them later, sort of an online pinboard. I have a Pinterest board dedicated to card making inspiration, click here to see it. I've chosen a pin from this board as my inspiration this week.

My vintage style baby girl card was inspired by this sweet purse. My card began with a base made from Light Kraft Cover Weight Card Stock, trimmed to 4.25 by 5.5 inches. I layered a ledger patterned paper to the top half of the card front. I die cut 2 patterned papers with scalloped border dies and layered them on the bottom half. I wrapped some Mint Green Tea Hand Stained Bias Tape around the middle along with a piece of twine from the Metallic Twist Hemp Twine Pack and tied it in a knot on the right side of the card front. I fashioned a flower from Recycled Kraft Tissue using a spiral flower die and glued it to the right hand side of the card, over the knotted ribbon and twine. I  made a bow from Mint Green Tea Hand Stained Bias Tape and tucked it in behind the flower, adhering with a bit of hot glue.I embellished the center of the flower with a Girl's Silhouette Icon Flatback flair button. I  stamped a sentiment on a Scalloped Grungy Prim Tag and tied it to the ribbon, close to the flower. Some green pearls finished my card as shown above.

I hope you'll join us this week and link up your projects using the inspiration theme,  use something kraft or any item that can be purchased at The Kraft Outlet store.Remember, all followers of The Kraft Journal blog who link up their projects are entered into a monthly drawing for a $15 voucher from The Kraft Outlet. You also have the chance to have your work featured on Feature Me Friday. Embroidery Inspired Birthday Card

Hi my sweet friends! I'm sharing a card with you today that I made for the Papertrey Ink April blog hop. This month, they've asked everyone to create a project inspired by floral embroidery using their floral stamps. I've purchased some new floral sets from them recently and couldn't resist!

I found this embroidery pattern on Etsy here and thought it would be cool to reinterpret it into a card.

I just adored the words on a slight slant and the floral and leaf scroll work around it. I've been loving the combination on Raspberry Fizz and Tropical Teal together, so I've used them as the main colors. I've added accent flowers using Winter Wisteria,Summer Sunset and Melon Berry. The stamp sets I've used are mainly Embellished Elegance with a small part of the sentiment from Garden Grace.
I recently made a birthday card for my sister in law using Embellished Elegance and the same color scheme. Here's a look at it.

I used a few more of the stamps from the Embellished Elegance set and a few more ink colors. This set is so much fun to play with!
Thanks for visiting today!

Make It Monday At The Kraft Journal- Rain

Happy Monday everyone! I hope your Easter weekend was filled with joy and a visit from the Easter Bunny! It's time once again for a new Make It Monday at the Kraft Journal blog. This week's theme is rain. Use  a rain theme or raindrops, or your own interpretation of rain in your project.
I found this cute little girl with an umbrella at the Silhouette online store and just couldn't resist her! She is a print and cut file and just happened to match my Basic Grey papers exactly,so I didn't need to recolor her.I started with a card base made from Light  Kraft Cover Weight Card Stock cut at 4.25 by 5.5 inches. After layering a piece of polka dot patterned paper, I added a die cut border underneath a rain drop themed patterned paper and adhered it to the front left side of the card ,aligning the edges with the polka dot paper. I stamped the sentiment onto a die cut and affixed it to the center top of the card front. After printing and die cutting  the umbrella girl, I adhered her to the left side of the sentiment die cut. I embellished  with a bow made from Aqua Mist Hand Stained Bias Tape and finished off the bow with a sun shaped sequin and pink brad. Here is a closeup of the sentiment:
