Your Heart Will Lead You Home

Happy Thursday! We're almost to the weekend! I hope wherever you are,you were unaffected by the horrible storms that passed through the South yesterday. We got a little bit of it here in the form of heavy rain and strong winds, but nothing severe.
Here is a card to remind us how lucky we are to have a home filled with the ones we love the most. I am grateful everyday for a warm comfortable home that I love filled with my children, husband and three pets.

I used the sketch from this week's Mojo Monday.

I hope your Tuesday is off to a great start. I'm still sitting here drinking coffee trying to shake the cobwebs from my brain.
I was in Micheal's last Friday, it's literally one and half miles from my house,so I tend to go there often. I *almost* got out the door with nothing, but I saw they added some new 6x6 paper pads by My Mind's Eye. Well, of course they came home with me!  This card is made from a pad called 'Bramble Rose'. It's mostly wood grain and floral together.Really pretty! I'm not sure if it's an older paper line but I like it a lot!

I managed to keep this down to only one patterned paper so the embellishments stand out. I used the sketch from Unscripted Sketches this week.

Birthday Wishes...With A Fishes

Ok, I know my title has extremely bad grammar, but I'm warming you up to show you the dreaded "man card". Yeah, you know, the card a lot of us simply do not want to make. Well, I did: and I lived.
I made this for one of hubby's fishing buddies: he turned the big 5-0. I hope he liked it! I put this together in no time because I didn't have to fuss with placing flowers or ribbons just so!! So here's my dose of masculine for the duration. I promise tomorrow will be girl land  here once again!! I even found a couple of challenges to throw this in for consideration.

I Love You So Much

Happy Saturday! I have a card to share with you today that I made for this week's Freshly Made Sketch.

Everything on this card with the exception of the seam binding and card stock base came from the Lavender collection by My Mind's Eye. I won a challenge a few months ago over at the MME blog and they generously sent me the entire collection of my choice.
I hope your weekend is going great, have a good one and see you again tomorrow with a new challenge over at Sentimental Sundays!

You Are Loved....

Happy Friday! The weekend is almost upon us and I couldn't be happier. I bought some new stamps that I'm excited to play with and haven't had the time this week. I hope you have something fun planned too!

I have some shabby chic goodness to share with you today. This card is inspired by this week's challenge at the Shabby Tea Room.

You And Me Feb 14

Good morning! I meant to post this last night, but I was so tired I couldn't see straight and went to bed early!
This is my entry this week for Mojo Monday. I stayed a little on the simple side again. I found this cute American Crafts roller stamp at Target for 5 bucks, so I thougt I'd give it a try.

I deviated from the sketch a smidge, but isn't that what sketches are, just a guideline? **snicker**

Homespun Happy Birthday

Good evening my sweet readers! Today I'm sharing a card that I made for The Ribbon Reel Challenge.

The theme this time around is "home spun". I like it because it feels like a throwback to Autumn, my favorite season!
love this picture!
I didn't have anything apples, but I had one of the HUGE peonies from Prima that has been sitting in my flower drawer for YEARS. I bought it for another project that never happened obviously, so I'm glad to be able to use it on something.

You Mean The World To Me

Happy Monday! I hope your week is off to a great start. I was able to get some crafting time in and managed to finish several cards that I'll share during the week. The first one up is for the Retro Sketches Challenge. I liked the sketch  a lot, it's clean and simple and a style I've been experimenting with lately.

Well, maybe not too clean or too simple but I gotta start somewhere!

Sentimental Sundays-I Thank My Lucky Stars For You

Good Sunday morning everyone! This post is a special one because it's my first as a member of the design team at Sentimental Sundays! I am honored and excited to be a part of a wonderful group of artists. There's a new challenge every Sunday so I hope you will come over and play along this week.
This week's sponsor is Chickydoddle, which is a wonderful shop filled with all sorts of crafting supplies, from gorgeous washi tapes to baker's twine. The winner of this challenge will receive a grab bag worth $50.00!

The challenge this week is to create a card featuring  negative space and of course, add a sentiment! An example of negative space would be to use the space left over from die cutting a piece of card stock as I did in my card below.

I used my Cricut to cut three stars from card stock and used some sweet little washi tapes from Chickydoddle on a separate piece of card stock and attached it to the back so you see the design through the stars. That was then mounted onto the card base with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment, added a piece of the tape across the top, wrapped twine around and tied it in a bow and added  a button to finish it off .

I hope you'll join us this week over at Sentimental Sundays and check out what the super talented design team came up with and add your own creation!

Thinking Of You.....

Hi again!  I hope you can stand another card from me this week. I've been in a card making frenzy lately; sometimes the fever hits and I can't stop. I usually go into nesting mode and undertake a home decorating or yard project during the winter, but not yet! I have rearranged my craft room once again and it has to be by far the best incarnation yet. I did a major purge last year and gave all of my unwanted supplies away. So far, I've been very choosy with what I buy and have a specific project in mind before I bring it home. Or order it. One thing that's changed is I'm splurging more on good quality card stock and nice tools, such as dies, that can be used over and over. I'm also trying to fall back in love with my Cricut.

Today's card reflects my effort of getting back working with the Cricut. Instead of cartridges, I've been working with the Sure Cuts A Lot software. I love how you can download SVG files and literally cut the shape any size and right the first time.

Be Mine Valentine

Good Wednesday to you! This week is flying by and I'm looking forward to the holiday weekend. We have some yard cleanup to do if it's not too wet. I want to re-mulch our bulb beds before they start sprouting. Down here in the South, that can be as early as the end of February!
Today's card was made with the intention of doing a semi-masculine card. However it ceased to be the second I put that big fat bow on it! Oh well so much for that! I'm linking up to this week's Mojo Monday and the current challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Hip Happy Birthday

Hi guys! I hope your week is going well so far. It has been dreary and rainy for the past  couple of weeks with only short spurts of sunshine. It's becoming depressing! I was attracted to this week's Stampin' Royalty challenge because the inspiration picture looked so bright and happy.

It looks like it's a nursery maybe? I just love the clean and colorful look! I hope it translated to my card.My skills at doing CAS are not strong because it's not my usual style, but I'm trying to branch out and do different things this year.

Happy Anniversary

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone's weekend is going well. I'm still going strong after everyone else has gone to bed!  The older I get, the more I enjoy staying up late. The night time hours are just so quiet and peaceful. I feel like it's stolen time and a little thrilling to be up and totally free to do what I want.

Having said that, I did get to make a card for the City Crafter Challenge Blog. This week's challenge is to use book paper. I remembered that I had some old pages from a French book I bought on Etsy a while back. The papers are aged yellowed and brittle, perfectly vintage. I stamped directly on it and tore the edges carefully for the worn look. I haven't added ANY inks or distressing, it's perfect the way it is.

The rest of the papers are from the French Kiss Collection by Glitz Design. The sentiment stamp is by JustRite Stamps(large fancy sentiments set) .The main image stamp is by  Rubber Stampede (are they around anymore?) Check out that metal flower! I found it on clearance at Mike's in the jewelry supplies section. I also need to mention the yummy silk ribbon by May Arts. Oh my gosh, this ribbon is just the best and makes perfect bows. I recently splurged and stocked up on several yards in several colors.

I'm also linking up to 52 Card pickup Challenge over at The Old Back Porch.

I hope you like today's card and I appreciate you coming by!
