Gypsy Girl Tag-The Kraft Journal Make It Monday 140

It's time again for a new challenge over at The Kraft Journal. This week, it's a sketch challenge.I never met a sketch I didn't like and this one is no exception!

I flipped it a bit and stepped out of my card comfort zone and made a tag this week.I started with a Buff French Carte Postale Post Card Shipping Tag  from The Kraft Outlet store and added some additional postal themed stamps to add a real look to the post card. I collaged a piece of Vintage Dictionary paper and some ephemera pieces from Mini Gypsy Ephemera Labels as the base layer. After adding some vintage looking flowers, I used a combination of Chit Chat  Word Stickers and die cut words to form the sentiment. Black and red silk ribbons were added as the final touch.
I hope you'll visit The Kraft Journal blog to link up with us and check out the rest of our talented design team's projects. I can't wait to see how you interpret the sketch!

Autumn Stag Card-Make It Monday 139 At The Kraft Journal

Happy Monday and welcome to a new challenge at The Kraft Journal. This week's challenge is a color inspiration with some gorgeous fall colors to jump start your creativity!

I started with a Kraft Blank Note Card, then layered some deep red paper and a piece of Lunch Bag Kraft Card Stock stamped with a leaf and acorn themed background stamp.  I wrapped the stamped panel with Natural Burlap Ribbon and made a bow before  adhering to the red layer. I then accented the burlap bow with some fall leaf die cuts,an 'Autumn' stamped tag, and a button threaded with red and green Dark Jewel Hemp Cording. The deer head die cut is the finishing touch and also the focal point. This masculine card would be great for that special man in your life with an Autumn birthday.

I hope to see you over at The Kraft Journal this week! Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Happy Autumn

Happy Thursday my sweet friends! I hope your week is flying by and this post is finding you well and in the mood for Autumn. It's still a bit warm down here in the South, but each day it's getting just a little cooler and the sun has taken on it's fall glint. Pretty soon the leaves will start turning and it will be full on fall. The sooner the better!
My card today is actually a color scheme I've been wanting to try lately. It's sort of a pale, shabby chic look for Autumn. The blues are for the crisp sky that is prevalent now and the browns are for the acorns  the squirrels and chipmunks are  busily collecting for their winter stash.
The Prima  patterned papers I used are from the Nature Garden 6x6 pad. They're not fall papers at all, but with a little ink distressing, I made them work. The stamps I used are a now discontinued JustRite set called Autumn Words. They are  on sale here at an awesome price. No Autumn card would be complete without a little burlap. I found a DCWV stack at my local Joann that is burlap mounted to a paper backing. It doesn't fray and can be die cut easily and crisply as I have done above with a scalloped border die. A few die cut leaves, some ink stained seam binding and a bit of blue tulle and my shabby chic fall card is complete.

I'm so happy you stopped by today!  If you wish to get a notification of new posts, remember to subscribe to me on your blog reader, by email or like me on Facebook. Some options for these are located in the sidebar to the right of this post. Have an awesome day!

All You Need Is Love-The Kraft Journal Make It Monday 138

Good Monday morning! It's time again for a new challenge at The Kraft Journal. This week's theme is to make a creation inspired by a song or a book. As always, please use kraft stock or any item purchased at The Kraft Outlet store.

This sentiment stamp caught my eye because it's the title of my favorite Beatle's song. I also wanted to incorporate a vintage sixties feel since this song was a hit in the summer of 1967.

I began my card with a Lunch Bag Kraft stock card base. After mounting patterned paper strips on a smaller panel of Lunch Bag Kraft stock, I adhered it to the card front with foam tape.
After stamping the sentiment on a Lunch Bag kraft banner,I added some black pom pom fringe to the bottom and adhered it to the card with foam dots. I die cut a tag out of C-Flute Corrugated Kraft paper and added a tab from Hodge Podge Magpie Stickers to the side of the tag and mounted it with foam dots.I also added a black seam binding bow and a button strung with Natural Hemp Cord to the top of the tag. To finish my card,I also added a heart die cut from chalkboard style patterned paper, a die cut bird, wood veneer speech bubble, and finally, a felt flower.

I hope you'll come over to The Kraft Journal and link up your creation inspired by a song or a book. I can't wait to see what you come up with! Thank you for visiting me today, I am so happy you stopped by!

Happy Birthday-The Kraft Journal Make It Monday 137

Happy Monday!  I hope your weekend was fabulous, the summer is definitely winding down although it's still a bit warm here in Georgia. The spring and summer flowers are fading some here and bright yellow mums made it to each side of my front door this week! I love when it's mum time!

It's also time for a new challenge at The Kraft Journal. It's a sketch challenge this week. I LOVE sketches and I hope you'll like this week's!

What a great sketch! Using a card base made with Light Brown Cover Weight Stock, I added a black layer before adding the leopard  patterned paper so it would stand out. I added a punched border along the vertical piece for added drama and then tied a fuchsia silk ribbon bow around the piece before adhering it to the card.I stamped the  sentiment on Blackboard Stock paper in white ink and embossed it in white for a trendy chalkboard look.I then die cut the sentiment into a label shape and adhered it with foam dots for a raised effect.Enamel dots were added to the top for a splash of color and shine. Using Kraft Recycled Tissue Paper,  I folded a piece several times and  used a flower die to cut it into flower shaped layers. I poked a small hole in the center of the layers and secured them together in a layered stack with a small brad. To make the flower dimensional, I fluffed and fluffed to bring the layers up over each other and give it a realistic look. I hot glued a floral button to the middle to finish it off and then attached it to the silk ribbon bow. I then added a bit of Pastel Hemp Cord, another flower and a bit of hot pink tulle.

I hope you'll hop over to the Kraft Journal and see what the rest of the design team has created for your inspiration. Join us this week and you may be the one to win some free crafting goodies from The Kraft Outlet Store!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Happy Thansgiving-Justrite Papercraft September Release Celebrate Today Vintage Labels Four Clear Stamps

It's Friday!! Yayyy! We made it.What a week it's been here with all of the beautiful stamps that JustRite  Papercraft released this month! I'm sure your wish list has grown and it's about to get a little longer! Celebrate Today is the featured stamp set and it packs so much value and versatility. This clear set can be used year round as it has sentiments to fit every season. Since Thanksgiving is coming and I love to make Autumn themed cards, I broke my fall papers out and whipped this one up for you:

This set also coordinates with the JustRite's custom Spellbinder dies Vintage Labels Four. I started my card with a square 6x6 base from pumpkin colored card stock and distressed the edges. I cut a leaf printed patterned paper just slightly smaller than the base, sewed around the edge and layered it on top. The next two layers were die cut from Spellbinder's Labels One and Square Swatches respectively, then layered on with foam tape. For the focal point, I embossed the large center stamp in copper on gold card stock and the smaller label with the 'Happy Thanksgiving 'sentiment on green card stock. I  die cut them using the appropriate matching die from Vintage Labels Four. After layering these to the center of the card, I added a grouping of die cut leaves from Spellbinders Fall Foliage just underneath. I then added some fall colored striped ribbon, brown button twine and a cute little acorn button to the center of the bow.Whew, all done!!

The design team has created some super gorgeous creations for your perusal today. I hope you will give them a visit and see!

Thanks for stopping over to visit today. Tomorrow is the last day of JustRite's September release , the set we're showing tomorrow is so cute, don't miss it!

Happy Birthday-Justrite Papercraft September Release-Birthday Wishes For You Clear Stamps And Birthday Cake Cling Background Stamp

Happy hump day! I hope you've been enjoying this month's release from JustRite Papercraft. Today's featured stamps are a sentiment set, Birthday Wishes For You and Birthday Cake background stamp. I combined the background with one of the sentiments to create my card for today

I started my card with a very dark charcoal gray card base. I embossed the background stamp in silver onto white card stock and then layered on the base with foam tape. I colored selected areas of the background stamp using a Spun Sugar Distress ink pad and a water brush. The water brush dilutes the ink slightly and gives a nice watercolor effect. I embossed the sentiment in silver onto white card stock, cut it with a Classic Oval Spellbinder die and layered with an Opulent Oval die cut from gray card stock. I finished it off with a gray and pink seam binding bow and gray pearls. The butterfly is one I made with a clay mold and paper clay. I covered it in embossing ink and sprinkled silver embossing powder then I heated it to melt. If you try this, be careful! The powder bubbled when it melted and I thought my butterfly was toasted! Just hold your embossing gun a little farther away and heat it long enough just to melt it and then stop.

The rest of the JustRite design team has some projects to share with you made with today's featured stamps. Follow the links below to visit each one. Be sure to leave them some love!

Thanks for visiting and come back tomorrow for day four of our September release!

JustRite Papercraft September Release-Filigree Leaves Cling Background Stamp and What I Like About You Clear Stamps

Hi and welcome to day two of the September release from JustRite Papercraft! Today we are featuring two new stamps from Becca Feeken's Amazing Paper Grace line. Filigree Leaves is a beautiful cling background stamp and What I Like About You is a versatile and gorgeous clear stamp set.

I turned to my home decor to inspire the design of my card. I have a collection of blue and white china and pottery and the leaf background stamp actually looks a lot like the design on a plate I have.
Card inspiration really is all around us!

Time To Give Thanks-JustRite Papercraft September Release Autumn Vintage Labels Three

******If you're here from the Kraft Journal, please scroll down for my Make It Monday post.******

Good Morning my crafty friends! Today is the first day of the September release from JustRite Papercraft. I'm showcasing Autumn Vintage Labels Three for you today.
I love to make Autumn themed cards! I'm not sure if it's the leaves, pumpkins or colors. It may be that Autumn is my favorite season!

I absolutely adore this acorn and oak leaf wreath! I'm also in love with burlap so I thought it would look nice on an Autumn card. I added a bit of sparkle with a glittered leaf and some little berry sprigs I found in the floral section of Micheal's. Of course no card of mine would be complete without some yummy ribbon. This one is olive silk ribbon from May Arts.

This gorgeous set coordinates with the JustRite Custom Spellbinder dies Vintage Labels Three.
The JustRite Papercraft Design Team has many more beautiful projects to show you today! Use the link list below to visit each of them.

I hope you've enjoyed today's release project! Please come back tomorrow, I have another card for you! Thank you for stopping by today!

Sweet Little Boy- The Kraft Journal 136 Make It Monday

Good Monday morning everyone! Happy Labor Day to my everyone here  in the States, I hope you've been enjoying a long holiday weekend. It's time for a new challenge  at The Kraft Journal. This week's challenge is simple: in other words, make your creation clean and simple (CAS). Of course, use kraft card stock or anything you've purchased at the Kraft Outlet store.

If you've been to my blog in the past, you may have noticed that CAS is not my signature style! I do like to make cleaner cards from time to time. I hope I didn't go overboard on this one!

For my CAS card, I started with a card base made from Lunch Bag Card Stock. After another layer of black card stock, I used a script paper from the Kraft And Black Card Stock pad for the third layer. I adhered a black card stock label to the front and topped it with a Mini Burlap Rectangle that is sewed around the edges. For the centerpiece of the card, I made a ribbon using a die cut, Black Chevron Ribbon and an Icon Flatback metal button.  I then die cut a banner from Lunch Bag Kraft Card Stock and used Chit Chat Word Stickers to spell out the sentiment.

I hope you will join us this week at The Kraft Journal. Hop over and link up your CAS creation for the chance to win! See you there!
