Spread Your Wings..Pinterest Inspired Card

Good morning! I hope your week is going well so far. It's the first week of summer vacation and we are having a blast! I love the lazy summer days, sleeping in a little, tending the flowers, late suppers and not having an 'official' bedtime. It wont' last, but I'm relishing every moment!
I have a card for you today that I made using my Card Inspiration board on Pinterest. Anything I come across on the web that could possibly be parlayed into a card design is pinned there. For some reason, tablescapes seem to be the most pinned. Maybe because they are linear. Most tables are square and rectangle,so I guess it's easy to imagine.
Here is my inspiration picture

I've used the colors and patterns shown here, I tried to incorporate the wood grain pattern, but it would not come together. Maybe next time. I didn't use the touch of purple either, but I recently saw a beautiful dress that had lavender ,navy blue, grey and white. It's stuck in my brain, so I'll probably make a card with that combination soon. I love blue and white china and tried to replicate the look on my card using JustRite PaperCraft's Iron Swirls Background Stamp. The focal image is from the Butterflies set. Both are part of the May release. All of the dies are from Spellbinder's Heirloom Legacy Card Creator die set.

Other supplies:
  • card stock-Bazzil (navy blue), Papertrey Ink-(Ripe Avocado,white)
  • ribbons-May Arts
  • dark blue ink (Heidi Swapp)
Where do you find card inspiration? Have a wonderful day!♥

Hello Foxy! Make It Monday At The Kraft Journal

Happy Memorial Day to all those here in the US! If you have the day off today, enjoy! It's time for an all new challenge over at the Kraft Journal blog. This week's theme is clean and simple. This is not a style that I do often, but I enjoy the challenge of making an interesting card with few supplies and working with white space.
I still managed to make 4 layers of paper on this baby! Oh well, little triumphs! I bought this little fox stamp and matching die quite a while ago and it has never seen ink until now. I colored him with spectrum Noir markers. Isn't he just so cute? I decided to add a little melon colored card stock as an accent to offset all the tan kraft color.  Here's what I used:
  • Brown Kraft Cover Weight Card Stock (The Kraft Outlet)
  • Melon Berry card Stock and ink (Papertrey Ink)
  • Hello Foxy stamps and matching dies (Papertrey Ink)
  • Spectrum Noir markers
  • Hemp twine (The Kraft Outlet)
  • Enamel dot (My Mind's Eye)
  • Wood grain embossing folder (The Paper Studio)
  • Bracker border punch (Fiskars)

I hope you'll join us this week and link up your projects using the inspiration theme,  use something kraft or any item that can be purchased at The Kraft Outlet store.Remember, all followers of The Kraft Journal blog who link up their projects are entered into a monthly drawing for a $15 voucher from The Kraft Outlet. You also have the chance to have your work featured on Feature Me Friday. Hope to see you there!

Happy Everything!

Good morning friends! I have a sweet wreath card to share with you today. Wreaths are one of my favorite decorative elements both in home decor and on cards. I used to try and make them for my home, but really could never make them as lush and fancy as I wanted, so I usually buy them. I've bought them from different sellers on Etsy and also at my local Micheal's. Our Micheal's has an extremely talented floral designer, her work is just gorgeous! I do make a point to tell her when I see her:).
Of course, making a pretty wreath on a card is easy! Especially when you have the right stamps.

I've used Papertrey Ink's Birds And Blossoms set for my wreath here. My card base is made with Rustic Cream card stock and the layers and inks are Aqua Mist and Melon Berry. The leaves are stamped with Simply Chartreuse ink. The sentiment is from the Embellished Elegance set. I'm joining in on Papertey Ink's May  blog hop. They've challenged us to use aqua and melon on our projects this time around. What a beautiful color combination, don't you think?
I hope you have a great day and I appreciate your visit! If you would like to keep up with what's going on here, I would love to have you as a regular reader! You can follow me in a feed reader or on Facebook by using one of the options in the sidebar to the right. Thanks!♥

You Are The Best Floral Card

Happy Friday! We've successfully made it to the end of another week! It's Memorial Day weekend here in the United States, which is the official kickoff of the summer season. Do you have a nice vacation planned this summer? Hopefully we're going to try to get away somewhere. My daughter will be so busy this summer with driver's ed classes, volunteer service and summer reading assignments, that we can  sneak away only for a few days. I've brought a bit of summer to you today with some pink flowers. We've planted quite a few in our yard this year and it seems that pink is our hands down favorite. I've really been loving the color combination of pink and mint green lately in my card making.

I've used a couple of stamps from Avery Elle here. The flowers and leaves are a mixture from Laurels and Oh Happy Day. The sentiment was fashioned with words from the Laurels set.  I love that you can mix and match these sets to get a bigger variety of looks. The mint green card stock is also from Avery Elle.

That's it for today! I am linking this card to the Botanicals challenge over at the AEI♥U blog.
Have a great weekend!♥

Floral Congratulations Card

Good morning! I hope your week is going well so far. It's the last week of school here and the kids are so excited for summer! It will be nice to have some leisurely days instead of running around to activities and school. We all need a little break! I have a card for you today that I made just for fun.

This is sort of a clean and simple card, for me anyway!:) It came together quite by accident. I was playing around with the Garden Grace stamp set from Papertrey Ink. I die cut and stamped the flowers, just to test it out. I placed it in my die cut collection for later use. It was placed right on top of the swirly die-cut in the bin. I saw them together and thought they would be pretty on a card.  A few minutes later and this card was born. The swirl die cut is from an Anna Griffin die I purchased earlier this spring. The sentiment is from the Oh Happy Day set by Avery Elle. All of the paper is from Papertrey Ink. I've used Kraft,Simply Chartreuse,Sweet Blush and Rustic White. The banner was just a small rectangle that I made into a fish tail banner by using my square punch. I think it turned out really cute!

Have a great week,y'all!

Make It Monday At The Kraft Journal

Happy Monday everyone! Did you have a nice weekend? We were busy, busy! Did a lot of planting yesterday. I just love planting beautiful flowers for the summer! We're trying to redo some landscaping in our backyard and it's coming along nicely!
I also did some dusting and cleaning around the 'ole blog here. Do you like the new look? I was going for something fresher, maybe a little more open and light. The other design was feeling a little claustrophobic!

Back to the business at hand, I'm here to tell you that it's time for a new challenge at The Kraft Journal blog. This week's theme is 'flowers'. Here's my card for you.
I've used many goodies from The Kraft Outlet store here. I used my Spellbinders Rose Creations dies to fashion some flowers from Vintage Sheet Music and some Lunch Bag Kraft Stock. The die cut background is a Spellbinders Tapestry die, I think it's an expandable pattern die. The burlap tag was a find in the Micheal's dollar bin,of all places! There's been some cute stuff in there lately! I used some Tim Holtz stickers to make the sweet inspirational sentiment and of course a kraft card base! Here's a list of Kraft Outlet items I've used here:

I hope you'll join us this week and link up your projects using the inspiration theme,  use something kraft or any item that can be purchased at The Kraft Outlet store.Remember, all followers of The Kraft Journal blog who link up their projects are entered into a monthly drawing for a $15 voucher from The Kraft Outlet. You also have the chance to have your work featured on Feature Me Friday. Paper Sweeties May Release Rewind!

Hi and welcome to the Paper Sweeties May Release Rewind! This is the day that the Paper Sweeties designers combine a new release item(s) with a previously released item. I've chosen the Sweeties Wagon Sweet Cut die set (new), with Emma, the Sweeties Wagon set, The Splendor Of Autumn and Sweeties Wagon Add On-Bloom And Grow. Whew! That's a lot, but it shows how versatile all of the Paper Sweeties stamps are and how you can mix and match them as you expand your collection.
I know that summer is barely upon us, but fall cards are one of my favorite card making themes! I couldn't resist the pumpkins! The Sweeties Wagon Sweet Cuts die set also coordinates with the Wagon Add On-Bloom And Grow. It has dies for  the wagon items, the banner and the little sign.

Take a few minutes and visit the Paper Sweeties designers to see their projects for you today.

I've used some Heidi Swapp papers and popped it with a touch of black paper and seam binding. I'm so crazy for that yellow resin bow! Paper Sweeties May Release Countdown!

Welcome to the Paper Sweeties release countdown! All the new items go live the 15th at midnight! This month's release centers around a get well theme,so it's a good time to round out your stamp collection to include the sweet sentiments and Paper Sweeties Boutique outfits. I've gone in a completely different direction with today's card. I've used a sentiment from the Feel Better Soon set and created this whimsical shabby chic card.
I've used an aqua card base to start my card and some lovely floral paper from Authentique (Seasons;Spring Collection). I've also used some new Spellbinders dies, A2 Devine Eloquence and Romantic Rectangles Two.You can see just a peek of a scalloped border in the center,it's an embossing folder/die combination from Anna Griffin. It's really pretty and too bad about covering most of it up, I'll need to use it again soon and give it more exposure! I hate for my supplies to feel neglected! I've also included some Robin's Egg seam binding from the Paper Sweeties shop. What shabby chic card is complete without some yummy tea stained ribbon?

I hope you'll take a few minutes and hop over to see what the Paper Sweeties designer have for you today using items from the new release. Use the links below and off you go!

Paper Sweeties May Release Sneak Peeks!

Whoo hoo! It's time for a Paper Sweeties May release sneak peek! The sets re really sweet this month and have a 'get well' theme! I've made Jake the most adorable doctor I've ever seen!
Isn't he just the cutest? His outfit and the sentiments are from the new set,  Sorry You're Sick. It will be available for purchase starting at midnight, May 15th. I've used various ledger papers here to replicate a doctors notes or medical file. I've used the blue paper behind Jake as the inspiration for the entire color palette. I think it came together really well! I've also used some seam binding and baker's twine in Creamsicle from the Paper Sweeties shop to accent the corner. What's a card without all those little extra details? If you wanted to give this card to a little boy,you could just omit them.

The Paper Sweeties design team has some get well sweetness to show you today. Use the blog hop list to visit them and see!

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you'll return tomorrow for another sneak peak from Paper Sweeties!

Make It Monday At The Kraft Journal- It's A Sketch!

Happy Monday! It's time for a new challenge over at the Kraft Journal blog! It's a sketch this week:
Here's my version:
Sketches are my favorite jumping off points for card design. You can add or subtract from them as you design. I stayed pretty true to this sketch, I just added a couple of extra layers. I began by making a card base using Brown Kraft Cover Weight Card Stock cut at 4.25 by 5.5 inches (A2 size) I layered a red die cut panel according to the sketch, then added a patterned paper panel on top. I adhered a piece of Natural Burlap Ribbon across the bottom third of the card, then layered some green twine from the Dark Jewel Hemp Twine Pack. I added  a bow made from cream and red stitched ribbon on top of the hemp bow. After stamping the flower wreath and sentiment, I die cut it in a label shaped and adhered it to the middle left of the card, following the sketch.Three green enamel dots finish off the right side of the card.

Thank You For Being You

Good Saturday evening! I hope you're enjoying your weekend so far. Hubby's been gone all week and is finally back from a business trip and we're all happily settling back in together. He's a bit jet lagged, but he'll make it! We're having a few little rain showers tonight, it's been great for the lawn and all of the new perennials we've planted this spring. I'm happy to report that I've not lost one plant this year! I usually have at least one or two not survive their new home.
I'm sharing a card today with you today that was made with some very new goodies I received in the mail earlier this week. It was made with the new Market Street line from My Mind's Eye.

I've used papers from the Ashbury Heights 6x6 paper pad. The die cut elements are from the same line with a few from the Nob Hill pack thrown in. This line is so lovely and has deep rich colors and metallic gold accents. I added a bit of turquoise seam binding and a matching paper flower for some softness. I've also accented the flowers with some enamel dots. I love enamel dots! I have more than I can use for the next decade, but somehow I manage to add to my collection! Oh well! I also have a bit of washi tape added here: most of it was covered by the other embellishments.

That's it for tonight, I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day! Check back Monday, A new challenge starts over at The Kraft Journal and on Tuesday, the May release from Paper Sweeties begins! I've got some cute projects for you to see! Thanks for stopping by!

Bicycle Built For Two-JustRite PaperCraft May Release

Welcome to the last day of the designer's showcase of the May release from JustRite PaperCraft! I hope that you have enjoyed this month's release and some new goodies have made their way to your shopping cart!:) Today, I'm featuring a sweet bicycle mini set called Bicycle Built For Two.
I chose a summery and bright color palette, bicycles always remind me of summer. I've water colored the background. A very easy technique and so much fun to do! I simply took a piece of watercolor paper, wet it with some water and began laying down my color. I just played with it until it was how I wanted and allowed it to dry thoroughly before stamping   I did stamp the bicycle, sentiment and balloon with Versamark ink and embossed it in the colors shown. I think it shows up better on a colored background. The clouds are made with some Fiskars punches that I've had forever and love to use if I need a quick cloud. I used a cool gray Copic marker to add a bit of shadow to them. I've added a red sequin to the center of each tire in a fit of whimsy. I've reinforced the polka dot motif with some ribbon I discovered in my stash, I had no idea I had it, but it was just perfect on this card! Funny how we forget what we have until it's rediscovered; it's almost like getting something new! There is also a matching SVG cut file available for this set in the JustRite PaperCraft store.

JustRite also has a new background stamp to showcase today called Iron Swirls.
Here's a look at it:

Some of the  JustRite designers have used it as well as Bicycle Built For Two on their projects for you today. Use the links below to hop around to their blogs.

Just a couple of reminders, JustRite has extended their Spellbinder and Gelato sale through tonight until midnight. It's a great time to stock up on both along with your stamp purchase!

Inspire-JustRite PaperCraft May Release

Good morning and welcome to another day of the JustRite PaperCraft  May release. We're showing off two mini stamp sets and one new background stamp today. My card was made with the Fern mini stamp set.
I totally swooned when I first saw this set. I love ferns and usually have them on my back porch every summer. I try and see how big they will grow, they can be huge! I live in the humid South and Boston ferns grow really well here.
I've embossed my fern stamp with Versamark ink and clear embossing powder on green card stock. I think it's a very dramatic look. I've kept my card fairly simple (for me!) and natural with wood grain embossed kraft card stock and a wooden button with brown twine.  Here is a peek at the Fern set:

Here's a look at the other featured stamps today:
