Vintage Rose Birthday Card

Hello friends! I hope this post finds you warm and well. If you are caught in those dreadful winter storms as of late in the US I hope you are snuggled in tight. Snow missed us by a few miles, we only had some cold, cold rain. I'm not complaining, but my daughter is driving now and I worry for her.

Today I'm sharing a birthday card. I have recently become enamored of old vintage images. I guess I should say re-enamored? Back in the early nineties, there was a little shop in a nearby town that specialized in Victorian reproduction ephemera. I loved going there to get pretty postcards and look at all of the beautiful items they carried. I still have a few things I bought back then. Unfortunately most of it is gone. I remembered how they used to carry these die cut images in sheets. I wasn't making cards at the time and had no use for them. Well, I found some for sale online recently and went crazy! Here's the first card I made using them.
I used almost the last of my Melissa Frances Classic Elegance paper. The colors matched perfectly! I need to find some more of that and Fifth Avenue, it's becoming scarce. I've taken several die cuts and layered them to form the bouquet. I like that these are flat except for some slight embossing, I think I could send this one through the mail quite easily. The sentiment is from Birthday Wishes For You by JustRite Papercraft.

Oh I almost forgot, if you want to know where I bought the die cuts, click here to visit the Etsy store.

That's all for today, thank you kindly for stopping over. Join me early next week for a new JustRite Papercraft release!

Easter Blessings Card

Oh dear, where did this week go? I haven't posted since Valentine's Day and I'm back with an Easter card already! I know St Patrick's Day is in between, but I have Spring fever and want to make some sweet spring cards!
I bought some very sweet vintage Easter graphics from an Etsy shop recently and couldn't wait to play with them!  The patterned papers are from Authentique, the sentiment stamp is from JustRite Papercraft's Spring Wishes set. I'm getting so much use from this set since it covers all of the Spring holidays. The usual suspects are all here as well; lace, ribbon, flowers and tons of buttons. I haven't sewn on any cards lately, so I lugged my machine out and used it too. Here's a closeup of the good stuff:
Darn, how cute are those bunnies? Thanks for stopping over today, have a great weekend!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I just wanted to make a quick post to wish everyone a lovely Valentine's Day! We're going to spend it at home today cuddling, watching old movies and eating chocolate! I have one last Valentine card to share with you.
This card is another I made with the Floral Impressions card kit from Anna Griffin. I love the base layer paper pattern; would totally love to wallpaper a room in my house with it! I added a die cut heart that is part of an embossing folder die bundle that I purchased from HSN.  Here's a closeup so you can see the details and layers:

So pretty! I'll be back soon with some new creations. Thanks for stopping by and I hope your day is filled with love!

Introducing Best Wishes And Bold Vines Background-JustRite Papercraft Winter CHA Release

Good morning and welcome to the final day of the Winter 2015 CHA  release. This was a rather large release that we have shown you over the last few days as well as back in January. All of the stamps in this release can be seen by clicking here. Today,  I have a sweet and shabby chic card using both featured stamps; Best Wishes and Bold Vines Background.
This card makes me long for Spring! I've embossed Bold Vines background in white onto baby blue card stock, trimmed it, rounded the corners and used an oval Spellbinder die to cut out the middle. I backed the oval with a white lattice die cut panel and layered it over a dry embossed pink card stock layer. I used the matching SVG cut files to die cut the flowers and sentiment, (I used the offset cut) color them with Copics, and arranged them along the side of the card. The butterflies are from the Morning Glory Cling set that was featured last Wednesday.

Introducing Hello Buttercup- JustRite Papercraft Winter 2015 CHA Release

Happy Saturday and welcome to another day of the Winter 2015 CHA Release  inspiration from JustRite Papercraft. Today's featured stamp set ids called Hello Buttercup.
I had the idea of the buttercups growing up a slightly whitewashed fence. I used the Upcycled Woodgrain Background that was introduced a couple of days ago.I stamped it in white ink on a kraft panel. I used the matching SVG cut file to cut out several of the flowers. After I snipped off the stems, I colored the flowers with my Spectrum Noir markers. I used a leaf punch to create the leaves from green card stock. I just arranged them along the side of the card in a climbing pattern. I used  foam dots on some of the flowers to add dimension. Afterwards, I tucked in the leaves to fill in the gaps and create the illusion of a vine. All that was left was the sentiment stamped in brown on a die cut tag. Easy peasy!

This card is another take on the same idea. I used the stems from the stamp this time instead of the punched ones. Pink buttercups do exist! I'm so into pink at the moment that I couldn't resist showing you a different color option.

The JustRite girls have more for you to see today. Use the links below to visit them.

I'll be back on Monday to join in on the final day of this release. Make sure to visit the JustRite Inspiration blog tomorrow for another fun filled release day. Thanks for visiting!

JustRite Papercraft Winter CHA Release-Introducing Whisper Of Wings And Honeycomb Background

Welcome to the second day of the Winter CHA February release from JustRite Papercraft. I'm excited about today's stamps! Feathers! Whisper Of Wings is a lovely set of feather stamps along with some beautiful inspirational and encouragement sentiments. We're also showcasing the new Honeycomb Background.
I used the matching SVG cut files to cut my feathers out of vellum paper. I then stamped them with blue, rose and gold ink. Gold is so hot right now in paper crafting! I added a bit more gold by matting the patterned paper and adding a gold embellishment to my seam binding bow. I like the shabby chic look along with some touches of gold.

And now for a completely different take:

I also incorporated the Honeycomb Background on this purple and cream card. I used a water based distress ink pad to ink the feather stamp, misted it lightly with some water and stamped it on a watercolor paper panel. I used the same technique for the background stamp as well. I love the water color look you get!

Introducing Morning Glory-JustRite Papercraft Winter CHA 2015 Release

Good morning! It's part two of the CHA release festivities from JustRite Papercraft. Today we're focusing on projects made with Morning Glory Cling Stamps and Upcycled Woodgrain Background. I've used Morning Glory on my card for you today.
Many years ago I planted some morning glory seeds at the base of my mailbox post and forgot about them. In a couple of weeks, the seed germinated and began growing really fast. Before the end of the summer, the vines grew so that you could not see the post or the mailbox! My husband had to trim it away from the door so the mail carrier could open it. Unfortunately, morning glory is an annual here and I never did plant anymore after that. I ended up planting some lantana that comes back every year.

Enough about my morning glory, let's talk about this stamp! I stamped the flower on water color paper in black Memento ink and used a water brush and my Distress Ink pads to color it. I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of water color paper and die cut it with a scalloped oval Spellbinder die. I really like the green and purple color combination, I think it's stunning. The construction is pretty straight forward and simple, I just embossed the green layer and added a die cut border under the cream stamped panel for texture and interest. A little purple silk ribbon and a green glass embellishment was all it took to finish my card off nicely.

I didn't use the Upcycled Woodgrain Background today, but here's a peek at it:
