Working With Graphic45 Botanical Tea

Happy almost Friday! It's been a busy week around here and I'm finally able to take a breather and share some cards! I've been in a shabby chic mood lately, and pawing through my stash, I found my Graphic45 Botanical Tea paper. This has to be in my top 5 all time favorites. It's also an older line, so I've been ordering some extra pads and pieces before it disappears. I can't imagine being without it! It may not be healthy to be emotionally attached to paper, but what do you do? **LOL**

First up is a birthday card. I used JustRite Papercraft's Birthday Wishes For You cling stamps for both the inside and outside sentiments. The bird and flower branch were fussy cut from another sheet in the paper pad.

Next up is a sympathy card and that little bird again! Can't get enough of him! The sentiment is from the Large Elegant Sentiments stamp set from JustRite Papercraft as well.

One thing I love about this line is the variety of  looks you can get out of it. Some of the papers are cream and brown, which gives you the ability to change up the look.

Completely different, wouldn't you agree? Here's another one that's similar:

I used less brown and more blue and cream. Love the wide lace! I need to track down more of it.

I hope you like today's cards and gave you some ideas on how to get some different looks from these wonderful papers and embellishments. Have you seen the two new Graphic45  lines coming out next month? Halloween and Marie Antionette! I can't wait!

Thanks for stopping over to visit. Have a wonderful weekend!

Cameo Mother's Day Cards

Good morning and happy Wednesday! As you know, Mother's Day is coming up soon, so I thought I'd share a couple of  cards for Mom with you today.I've always thought that cameo silhouettes are just lovely on a card. I found a gorgeous cut file in the Silhouette Online store and used it on both.
The first card is made with some beautiful patterned papers from Anna Griffin's Grace collection. I've also put my neglected Spellbinders Gold Majesty Circles dies to work here as well. I just love the little flower in her hair and have backed it with a different patterned paper to make it stand out. The sentiment is from JustRite Papercraft's Spring Wishes Vintage Labels Eight stamp set. her 'diamond' necklace is made from some rhinestone chain I found in my stash.

The next one has a bit more of a vintage feel to it. I reversed the image  and used some lovely Authentique papers along with some lace and matching paper flowers. The pinks on this one are slightly to the orange side, almost like faded antique wallpaper.

If you like the silhouette shape, it can be found in the Silhouette Online store here.
I hope you enjoyed your visit today, thanks for stopping over! Have a wonderful day!!

It's Raining Cats And Dogs!

Good morning, friends! It really did rain cats and dogs here last night! A huge storm blew through and knocked our power out for a while and generally made a mess of things. It's been a rainy week and I don't think we're going to see an end till next week. April showers bring May flowers, right?

Today I'm sharing two cards I made with the relatively new Graphic 45 line, Raining Cats And Dogs. I've loved Graphic 45 products for a long time and I must say, pictures do their lines no justice. They really have to be seen to be appreciated in my opinion. The colors are so lush and beautiful. Enough gushing, on to the cards!
Lucky dog indeed! Since I am primarily a card maker, I order their 8x8 paper pads. I love them because the images are a bit smaller and I can make a full size 5x7 card without having to piece it together. The lady graphic here was fussy cut from a full page and place on top of this GORGEOUS floral background paper.I added some chipboard pieces for the focal sentiment and a little accent at the bottom. Here's a closeup:

Next up is a card for the cat lover.

How cute are all those kitty cats? I just happened to have some seam binding ribbon and a flower that matched perfectly. I guess that's what a stash is for, huh? *lol*. Here's a closeup of this one:
I adore these so much! I think they would make great cards for the dog or cat lover in your life.

I hope you enjoyed these cards today, thanks for stopping by, I so appreciate all of your visits and kind comments!

Bird Water Color Thanks Card

Happy Friday my friends! I hope your week was wonderful and you're looking forward to a nice Spring weekend! I have a sweet thank you card today I made using a water color stamping technique.
Firstly, I found this gorgeous Hero Arts stamp at my local Micheal's for $4.97. Score! I'm a huge sucker for bird stamps, so in my basket it went.  In order to get this look, I colored the stamp with my Distress Markers, using whatever color I wanted for a particular element. Afterwards, I used a Mini Mister to mist it slightly with water, then stamped it onto water color paper. I stamped the image more than once as each time you get a different look. Once they dried, I picked the one I liked the best and die cut it using an oval Spellbinder die. I would like to note that it's important to use water color paper specifically, this effect isn't as pretty on plain card stock. I'm using Strathmore 300 120lb cold press. You can find it at all the big box box art/craft stores.
I also used a fretwork die and border punch by Anna Griffin, some cool crochet trim my daughter gave me for Christmas and some rose pink seam binding. The little pearl buttons were found at Joann in the sewing department. I almost forgot to tell you,the cute 'thanks' sentiment came in a little stamp set I picked up at the dollar spot at Target. Who knew? I love the font.

Here's a little closeup of the good stuff:
The cool thing I love about this technique is that it's never the same look twice and it's a surprise to see how it turns out. I've used this technique in a couple of other cards,  My Sweet Posies card and my Whisper Of Wings card. I would like to try it on some multi-step stamps to see what it looks like. If the results are good, I'll post it here for you to see.

Thanks for stopping by today, ya'll have a great weekend!

Introducing Furry Friends- JustRite Papercraft April Release

Happy Good Friday and welcome to the final April new release day. Today, it's all about cats and dogs! Unlike yesterday's sympathy sentiments, Furry Friends focuses on new pet adoption and some cute phrases for the cat and dog lover.
I made this fun card for a new cat owner using the sweet kitty face stamp from yesterday's featured stamp set, Pet Sympathy Sentiments. These two sets actually mix and match really well to give you many options for pet themed cards.  I used the matching SVG digital cut file to cut the cat faces and fish border. Furry Friends also has a matching SVG file set for the shapes it contains as well. All of my fun, bright papers are from Anna Griffin's Best In Show collection.

 Here's another look at yesterday's featured set, since I used some of them on today's card as well;

Introducing Pet Sympathy Sentiments- JustRite Papercraft April Release

Good morning and welcome to the third day of the April release from JustRite Papercraft. I hope you liked the Grunge Alphabet that was featured yesterday. Today's featured release is Pet Sympathy Sentiments. I've been clamoring for a stamp set to use for this occasion. I have many friends and family members that have pets that very dear to them and have a sense of immense loss when the time comes to say goodbye. A sympathy card is a thoughtful way to acknowledge their grief and let them know you care.

I've chosen a quiet gray and black color scheme for my card. The dog silhouette die cut was purchased from the Silhouette Online Store.  I've made a border from the paw prints and stamped a single one on my sentiment tag. Not a lot of embellishment here, just elegant and respectful.

This set has lots of options for mixing and matching to create different sentiments. The dog and cat are so cute! This set also has coordinating SVG cut files.
More inspiration is just a click away. Use the links below to see what the design team created today.

Thanks for stopping over for a visit today, please join us tomorrow for the final day of this month's new release!
