Happy Fall And Sending Hugs- Using Amazing Paper Grace Border Dies

Happy Sunday! We survived Hurricane Irma virtually unscathed here in my Georgia town. Her path took her straight over us, but she had weakened considerably by the time she reached us. We endured a brief power outage and some trees were uprooted, but our property was not damaged thank goodness!

I have two cards to share with you this week, as I wasn't able to post anything last week. First up, a cute Happy Fall card.

I really like making fall cards as I am a big fan of the season. Love the cooler temperatures, changing leaves, football, and the colors! This sweet fall card was made using Graceful Brackets Border Dies. This time I cut two borders from burlap to add texture. I used the paper backed burlap from Die Cuts With A View and sent it through my machine twice and used a shim for extra pressure. These were layered on top of a card covered with a sweet patterned paper from Prima's Amber Moon collection.
Some rust silk ribbon , gold leaf stickers and a cute sentiment panel were all that was needed to complete this cutie. Here's a different angle:

For my next card, I was trying to think of a way to use a border die in an unusual way. I remembered in my online travels through the current card making trends how popular cover plate or panel dies are right now. So using the Graceful Sweet Words dies, I created a panel out of one of them.

I cut a panel equal to the size of the card front and just ran it through my die cutter until it was completely die cut all over. I attempted to vary the die's placement  to make the line of text not match too closely. You could also line them up the same if you wish. The edges of the panel are not finished so you will need a frame for it. I cut a panel from pink card stock using Hemstitch Rectangles. I then trimmed the die cut word panel down to fit just inside the inner frame and adhered it together. I then adhered both piece to the card front. I stamped the sentiment onto a the smallest Francesca Labels and adhered it to the front using foam tape. A white seam binding bow and clear heart embellishment were added as finishing touches.
That's all for today! Thank you for stopping by and have a great week!
