A Sewing Themed Thank You Card

Happy Monday my sweet readers! I hope your weekend went well and now it's time to dive into another week. I'm starting my week by sharing a sweet sewing themed thank you card.

I started with some of my beloved Thrift Shop papers from October Afternoon. They have since been shuttered and I miss that company so much! They had the best sweet nostalgic products. I'm down to my last bit of this collection :(    My favorite print in the bunch is the blue doily paper that is my base patterned paper layer.  I chose one of the corners from Graceful Corners Two from Amazing Paper Grace to make corner pieces. I chose not to use either of the two inserts so my corner pieces would keep the quaint simplicity I was going after. The clothing pattern piece was cut using Francesca Labels dies as well as the "thanks" sentiment. Of course a sewing themed card cannot be created without some actual sewing, so I chose red thread and stitched around the perimeter. Some red seam binding and a blue button made two lovely finishing touches. This card reminds me of my grandmother who was a master seamstress and sewed many clothes for me growing up. She was a very special lady who I miss very much!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great week!

  1. The papers you've used remind me of growing up & doing my own sewing. I think the vintage patterns are SO MUCH NICER than the patterns out there today, & even the styles offered in the stores today! Your card is WONDERFUL & SO VINTAGE! I LOVE these kinds of papers! You did a FABULOUS JOB of showing us the Graceful Corners. I was wondering how they'd look....;)

  2. So very nicely done...and like the comment above mine...It also brought back memories for me of all the time I had spent in front of a sewing machine. I'm actually thinking of trying to get back to do some sewing again.
AND I also miss October Afternoon papers. I did have some that I HOARD!

  3. So pretty, or should I say sew pretty! I adore the sewing pattern paper!!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment, I appreciate each one!
